Social Adjustments

I grew up from a very conservative family. Drinking was minimal and smoking was a no no. I was even scolded by my mom one time when I tried to smoke my uncle’s cigarette.

When I started working, at to work with people who smoke a lot. Mentally, I have to adjust. I was conditioned to not being around smokers. But this time, I can’t leave a job just because I don’t like being with smokers. While some have very expensive cigarette, others have discount cigar collections. I have to adjust.

I guess many of us had this experience before – going out of your comfort zone to simply work things out professionally. That’s just how it is in the real world.
